The roster is already way too big, it is pointless to add 5 more characters with same playstyle, and if you will cease some character's moveset to fundas, he will pay with his uniqueness, which is important. I dont mind a female Taekwondo player with 60+ funda based moves and not as flowcharty as Hwoarang. In today's Tekken, these gimmicky chars create bad players who develop bad habits and rely on cheese to win, thus: ![]() Most people just want to win games the easiest way possible. Kazumi can't carry bad players, so instead of working to develop the key skills required, people give up with her and go play someone else who can gimmick their way to wins at low ranks.įunda based chars are important, only if the beginner has the desire and patience to learn the fundamentals of the game. But in the hands of a noob with poor fundamentals, she's pretty trash. Go watch pros' performance at EVO Finals, Kazumi in the hands of a good player is a monster. Kazumi is an easy execution and simple character but she's also a fundamentals heavy character. So if we have more, players can choose to play without so much cheese. Maybe add 5 more funda based chars? Bcoz the thing is, some players find Kazumi boring or at least they dont like her aesthetics. Can u imagine a ws4 11f punishment that deals with insane damage? Anyway, my point is devs should add more chars like Kazumi, with only 60+ moves, and without cheesy low (well she has hell sweep, but that's not good to cheese), and forces the player to use basic defense and offense tools to win. ![]() I tried Leo and she has very good punishment tools. When the two are gone, that only leaves Lars and Leo. Few days of playing Kazumi and I can feel my fundamentals is improving (that is outside the tiger spam and flying cheese). Kazumi and Shaheen probably wont make it to Tekken 8, tho I hope Kazumi returns as separate dlc. So as of now we have only four chars that are fundamental based:
